Mr. Brown at Round Rock High SchoolEnglish IV - AP Literature and Composition and English II - Pre-AP
School Email Assignments and due dates - Both English IV and English II need to check their respective "Student Agendas". All due dates are listed in the agendas. You will be given new agendas for the second semester. New for the 2010-2011 school year are the calendar page and the additional Blog. I will update those as changes occur in the schedule. These pages have been designed to assist current students in my English classes at Round Rock High School, Round Rock, Texas. Former students are welcome to visit these pages, locate material with which they were familiar from past courses, and use the material to continue their educational work. One of the purposes of this web site is to encourage communication through a convenient medium, the Internet. Through this website students and parents may access assignments, class materials, the syllabus, and reading suggestions. Furthermore, through the links the students have access to numerous resources for use outside of the classroom. I know that many parents are very busy; hopefully, this web site will aid you with your involvement in your student's schoolwork. My school email address is listed at the top of this page. That is usually the best method to use to contact me. By the way, don't forget to scroll down on each page. Quite often there is important material further down the page. This page, for example, will have my personal entries further down the page. “If students avoid challenges in their course selection, they’re probably not going to be good candidates, no matter what their grades, test scores, or extracurricular activities are.” - Michael Behnke, Director of Admissions at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Please check the additional Mr. Brown's English class blog for more assistance and updates to classroom activities. (Remember there is also a Blog at the bottom of this page.)

I have not had time to update the "Calendar" page. I will do that this weekend. However, you do have the student agenda which reminds you when your work is due.

Sophomores in English II Pre-AP for 2010-2011 need to read Mythology by Edith Hamilton and How to Read Literature Like a Professor by Thomas C. Foster over the summer.
During the second or third week of school in the fall semester there will be an in class project over the summer reading. You will be able to earn extra credit points by completing the reading before school starts.
